Ye Says He “Don’t Like” Kendrick Lamar’s Music, Gets Reaction From TDE’s Punch

It looks like Ye has had a change of mind when it comes to Kendrick Lamar, recently claiming that he doesn’t like the Grammy-winner’s music and that he should’ve been left off of Playboi Carti’s new album, I Am Music.

Ye shared his feelings after giving the album a spin Friday (March 14) morning, apparently taking notice of K. Dot locking down not one, but three features on the highly-anticipated work. The Compton rapper can be found on “GOOD CREDIT,” “MOJO JOJO” and “BACKD00R.”

“I DONT LIKE KENDRICK LAMARS MUSIC HE RAPS VERY GOOD BUT I DIDNT NEED TO HEAR HIM ON CARTI ALBUM,” Ye posted to his X page.

The revelation was a surprising one for some Hip-Hop fans, as Ye and Lamar previously collaborated on The Life of Pablo track, “No More Parties In L.A.” Ye later revealed that he and Lamar have over 40 unreleased songs together from his TLOP recording sessions.

The Chicago artist also felt the need to jump on the remix to Future, Metro Boomin, and Kendrick’s hit, “Like That,” declaring that he had the wordsmith’s back, saying, “Dot, I got you,” before getting his verse off.

Ye’s post spawned a reaction from Lamar’s former label head, TDE’s Terrence “Punch” Henderson, who posted to his X account, “Aye… What’s up with this Kanye West ni**a??”

The Breakfast Club host Charlamagne Tha God previously asserted that West is jealous of Lamar’s current success, and attempted to steal his shine through a string of antics the week leading up to Dot’s Super Bowl Halftime Show. Ye also dropped a song the day of the Super Bowl, further fueling assumptions of envy. His latest post will, no doubt, contribute to this narrative.

Ye also had a change of mind when it comes to former adversary Drake, recently saying he “loves” the hit-maker and wants the part-time crooner to speak at his funeral.
