Wonder why Downtown Dallas is extra busy? 30,000 athletes are here for a major competition

DALLAS — The 2025 NCA All-Star National Championship, celebrating its 30th anniversary in Dallas, will be the largest competition in its history, drawing 1,712 teams with 30,410 athletes and 3,700 coaches from 43 states and nine countries, according to the Dallas Sports Commission.

The competition, scheduled for Feb. 28 to March 2, will take place in the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center downtown. It is estimated to generate $64 million in economic impact, according to the Dallas Sports Commission. 

One hundred twenty eight winners will be recognized from first through third place across each region, and one Champion will be crowned in each of the five regions across the eight eligible divisions, plus League 6, according to the Varsity website.

“The Dallas Sports Commission is thrilled to see the energy, excitement, and enthusiasm of the NCA All-Star National Championship reach new heights as we celebrate 30 years in Dallas,” said Monica Paul, Executive Director, Dallas Sports Commission. “This competition showcases the incredible athleticism, dedication, and teamwork of these athletes while creating an unforgettable experience for fans, families, and the entire city.”

The championship will stream live on Varsity TV throughout the weekend.

Here is a breakdown of the prizes, per the Varsity website:

1st place in each conference

  •  Each athlete who is part of the 40 regional winning teams will receive a Ruby Pendant to proudly commemorate an amazing season to remember.
  • Teams receive $3,000 cash or a $3,500 credit and a Team Banner
  • Athletes receive individual banners

2nd place in each conference

  • Teams receive a $2,000 Varsity All Star credit and a Team Banner
  • Athletes receive individual banners

3rd place in each conference

  • Teams receive a $1,000 Varsity All Star credit and a Team Banner
  • Athletes receive individual banners

Most cumulative points in D1

  • Teams will receive a $5,000 cash prize
  • Teams will win the League’s iconic trophy

Most cumulative points in D2

  • Teams will receive a $5,000 cash prize
  • Teams will win the League’s iconic trophy
