VIDEO: Storm races through Rickman, TN

RICKMAN, Tenn. (WKRN) — One viewer had a front-row seat to Thursday’s storm damage.

Tyler Allen was driving through Rickman, TN Thursday evening and caught video of wild winds and heavy rain. The National Weather Service will send a team to Rickman to assess the damage sustained during Thursday’s severe weather.

Thunderstorm warnings and tornado warnings affected several counties in Middle Tennessee and Southern Kentucky Thursday evening. The National Weather Service will send a team to areas damaged during Thursday’s severe weather.

There was a confirmed tornado in Hart County, Kentucky.

Trousdale County Schools will be closed Friday due to damage from flash flooding; Sumner County Schools announced White House High School would also be closed to students. All White House High School employees should report as scheduled.

Another Rickman viewer, who told News 2 she was able to watch and stay safe, discovered a fallen tree over a barn.

In a Facebook post, Upper Cumberland Electric Membership Corporation said crews have started to assess damage from Thursday’s storm as debris has blocked some roadways. The company said it was working with first responders to reach damage.

Putnam County Emergency Management Agency director Brandon Smith told News 2 crews rescued a resident on Cindy Drive who was trapped by a downed tree. While other parts of the county saw minor damage, Smith added no injuries were reported in any location.
