Washington Commanders fans and millions across the country got to share the moment Jeremy Reaves proposed to his longtime girlfriend on the football field.
Reaves, a 28-year-old safety for the Commanders, popped the question to his girlfriend, Mikaela Worley, moments after his team defeated the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday night, ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter said in an X post.
The video of the proposal, obtained by USA TODAY, shows Reaves kneeling on one knee as an emotional Worley can be seen mouthing “yes.” The couple then embrace and Reaves screams and points to the crowd in excitement. The clip ends with the two kissing.
According to Schefter, Reaves would have waited to propose if the team had lost the game.
‘Glad we got to share that moment’
In an X post after the proposal, Reaves said, “Glad we got to share that moment with the best fans in the world! LUV.”
