UPDATE (1:55 p.m.): NAS Pensacola has officially called the “all clear” and has lifted the lockdown, which was in place after law enforcement officials received two calls regarding shots fired onboard Corry Station Thursday morning.
“After a thorough evaluation, authorities have confirmed that there was no active shooter threat,” read an NAS Pensacola news release.
NAS Pensacola officials ended their release by thanking all of the law enforcement that came out to the area for their “swift response, professionalism, and steadfast support” that ensured everyone’s safety.
UPDATE (12:13 p.m.): WKRG News 5’s Alexa Daly joined us live from NAS Pensacola Corry Station, where investigators are still trying to piece together what happened after receiving a Thursday morning call about shots fired.
That call, claiming an active shooter was onboard Corry Station, came around 10:15 a.m., according to the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office, which responded to the scene along with the Pensacola Police Department and Navy Police.
Officials cleared the building and found no signs of victims or a shooter, as of this update.

In the meantime, here’s what you should know about the location:
- Corry Station is one of four Center for Information Warfare Training commands.
- It’s known for its cryptology training, and often is called the “cradle of cryptology.”
- The station aims to deliver trained information warfare professionals to the Navy and joint services.
- Corry Station is also in charge of similar training sites at Keesler Air Force Base in Mississippi and Fort Eisenhower in Georgia.
UPDATE (11:50 a.m.): News 5 has learned more about a Thursday morning call that led to law enforcement responding to NAS Pensacola Corry Station.
The Escambia County Sheriff’s Office received a call around 10:15 a.m. about a potential active shooter on board Corry Station, officials said.
The ECSO, Pensacola Police Department, and Navy Police responded to that call, and officials cleared the building.
There are “currently no signs of any victims and no signs of a shooter,” an ECSO spokesperson said. “There were two reports of three gunshots being heard, and we have no evidence of that.”
The ECSO plans to stay on board Corry Station for the next 45 minutes, officials said.
UPDATE (11:20 a.m.): NAS Pensacola officials said the Navy Security Forces and local law enforcement entities responded to an “active shooter situation” on Corry Station.
Officials said the call came in as three shots were fired.
“Our Security team is responding swiftly and expertly with our local law enforcement partners,” said Capt. Chandra Newman. “Our concern is always the safety and welfare of our service members and their families. Our security forces will continue to work with responding law enforcement to process the crime scene.”
Escambia County Sheriff Chip Simmons said they had swept the building and found no sign of an active shooter.
Simmons said they had not found anyone injured.

ESCAMBIA COUNTY, Fla. (WKRG) — Naval Air Station Pensacola officials have closed the gates at Corry Station, along with the main gate and west gate, after a report of an armed disturbance.
