PLANO, TX — Toyota announced a pair of recalls this week expected to impact an estimated 147,000 vehicles over concerns involving a pair of problems.
The largest recall impacts 106,000 MY 2024-25 Tacoma 4-wheel drive vehicles equipped with 16-inch brakes and 17-inch Toyota wheels. The problem revolves around the rear brake hoses which can be damaged over time, especially if there’s build-up of mud and dirt inside the rear wheels.
If the hoses are damaged, it can lead to a brake fluid leak, which increases the risk of a crash. To correct the issue, dealerships will replace both rear brake hoses with improved ones at no cost.
The second recall involves 46,000 vehicles in which the second-row center seatbelt may have been damaged during manufacturing. If damaged, the seatbelts may not meet certain strength requirements, according to Toyota.
Toyota and Lexus dealers will inspect the second-row center seatbelt webbing to determine if a repair is needed. If so, dealerships will replace the the seatbelt assembly at no cost to customers.
The recall impacts the following makes and models:
- 2025 MY Toyota Camry
- 2025 MY Lexus NX
- 2024 MY Lexus RX
- 2025 MY Lexus RX
- 2024 MY Toyota Tacoma
- 2025 MY Toyota Tacoma
Owners of impacted vehicles in both recalls will be notified via letter starting in April.
