Khloé Kardashian had a painfully “uncomfortable” reunion with her ex-husband, Lamar Odom, during the Thursday, Feb. 6, season 6 premiere of “The Kardashians.”
“I haven’t had contact with Lamar in 9 years, and I just think it’s time to shed as much as I can,” Kardashian explained to cameras.
Odom met Kardashian at her friend Malika Haqq’s house. The former NBA star arrived over 50 minutes late with a bouquet of flowers.
“I was out shopping, being thoughtful, so it ran overtime,” he said quietly.
Odom initially sat down on the couch directly next to Kardashian, but she asked him to scoot over.
“You wanna sit this close? How’re we gonna talk to each other?” she asked him. He looked nervous, so she offered him some water.
“He’s visibly uncomfortable, he’s nervous, he’s sweating,” Kardashian told cameras, noting that her ex’s discomfort was rubbing off on her.
Odom gave short answers and spoke quietly when Kardashian asked him what he’s been up to.
“Little bit of this, little bit of that,” he said.
The retired athlete perked up a bit when Kardashian returned some of his belongings to him, including an angel wing necklace that represents Odom’s late mother, grandmother, and son Jayden Odom, who passed away at six months old in 2006.
“Khloé, you are the best,” Odom said. “My wife is the s—.”
Kardashian wasn’t impressed by Odom referring to her as his wife. The pair divorced in 2016 after seven years of marriage.
“I don’t have a lot of emotion for this meeting. I have dealt with so much trauma in this relationship for years — and this was such the love of my life —that to learn how to un-love someone … is almost like a death,” she told cameras. “So, him calling me his wife, I mean words are empty.”
Kardashan initially filed for divorce in 2013. When the divorce was still pending, Odom was hospitalized after being found unconscious in a Nevada brothel in October 2015. While incapacitated, he suffered several strokes and two heart attacks due to drug and alcohol use. Kardashian then withdrew her divorce petition so she could make medical decisions on Odom’s behalf.

During Thursday’s episode of “The Kardashians,” Kardashian recalled renting the home next to hers for Odom during his rehabilitation from the near-death experience. One day, she went over to the house and “walked in on Lamar doing things that he, in my opinion, shouldn’t have been doing.” Kardashian then told Lamar to be out of the house by the end of the weekend.
“And I haven’t seen Lamar since that day,” she told cameras. “I had to break contact with him because Lamar was repeating some of the same behaviors that I just couldn’t stand for.”
Kardashian and Odom finalized their divorce in December 2016. Odom, who has been candid about his struggles with addiction and his sobriety journey, acknowledged how his behavior impacted Kardashian during Thursday’s episode.
“I took you through a lot, huh? … I love you for trying your hardest with me,” he said, noting that his love for Kardashian will not “ever go away.”
Despite the sweet moment between the exes, there’s drama to come. The episode ended with a “To Be Continued” title card and a teaser that showed Odom and Kardashian arguing.
New episodes of “The Kardashians” premiere on Hulu on Thursdays at 12 a.m. EST.
