Steve Kerr Reveals Stephen Curry Injury Update After Raptors-Warriors

The Golden State Warriors managed to narrowly escape a Thursday night matchup against the Toronto Raptors with a tight 117-114 win. That victory came at a cost. The toll to pay for the win was a Stephen Curry injury.

The superstar point guard exited the game after 25 minutes played. That came as a result of a tough fall on a play where Curry attacked the basket. The four-time champion posted 17 points while shooting 6-of-8 from the field before having to leave the matchup against Toronto.

Following the conclusion of the contest, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr took the podium for a postgame press conference. The championship-winning coach had to know he would be fielding questions about his legendary point guard. Kerr came ready with answers.

“He’s getting an MRI right now. He just kind of fell [on the] pelvic, tailbone area. So he was trying to come back. He thought he might be able to come back, and we just decided not to risk anything. So, hopefully it’s not bad, but he’s getting imaging right now.

I have not seen him. By the time we got down there, he was already gone, getting that imaging.”

Most indications here would imply that Curry’s injury does not appear to be overwhelmingly serious. To Kerr’s point, the Warriors took the safe approach with regard to taking care of the veteran point guard and ensuring his long-term health.

Golden State is still in the middle of an important postseason push, jockeying for standings with those around them. However, ensuring the Warriors legend is properly available once the NBA Playoffs come around is a bigger priority.

Any further updates on Curry’s health will be provided as they become available.
