Reports: Cavs add De’Andre Hunter in deal with Hawks

The East-leading Cleveland Cavaliers have agreed to a deal with the Atlanta Hawks before the NBA Trade Deadline.

Forward-guard De’Andre Hunter is headed to Cleveland in exchange for guard Caris LeVert, forward Georges Niang, three 2nd-round picks and two pick swaps, according to multiple reports.

Hunter has spent his entire career with Atlanta after being selected with the No. 4 pick in the 2019 NBA Draft. He’s averaging a career-high 19.0 points this season to go along with 3.9 rebounds and 1.5 assists over 37 games in 2024-25.

LeVert, a dynamic veteran guard, has posted averages of 10.2 points and 3.7 assists in 23.8 minutes per game with Cleveland this season. Niang, a 6-foot-7 forward in the NBA since 2016, heads to Atlanta after one-plus season in Cleveland. He’s averaging 8.7 points and 3.7 rebounds over 51 games this season.
