2025-02-27T15:59:13.687ZBack to Ishihara on the interview beat, he’s been speaking to the BBC and says that Pokemon’s TCG second-hand market is getting silly-expensive and that “business is affected.”
2025-02-27T15:25:32.222ZAlongside Pokemon TCG Pocket’s next expansion, we also learned we’re finally getting ranked matches. While God himself will grace us in Triumphant Light tomorrow, though, it looks like we’ll be waiting until the end of March for the feature.
2025-02-27T14:53:04.423ZHere’s more on Pokemon Champions, a new PvP competition where you can fight with your pocket pals from older games.
2025-02-27T14:27:57.120ZThat’s your lot for a fairly packed Pokemon Presents, but feel free to stick around as we scrub through the trailer for all the wee details.
2025-02-27T14:25:00.979ZScrubbing back through the footage, looks like we’re getting some parkour-like action, too. It’s truly never too late to discover 3D movement in a game.
2025-02-27T14:22:31.596ZNo release date, though The Pokemon Company says this one is coming “late 2025.”
2025-02-27T14:22:09.137ZBattles look a different, too, with the addition of using movement to dodge out the way of incoming attacks.
2025-02-27T14:20:49.848ZStarters confirmed! We’ve got Chikorita, Tepig, and Totodile.
2025-02-27T14:15:04.592ZZ-A time? Z-A time.
2025-02-27T14:13:58.678ZWill also connect with Pokemon Home, if that’s your thing.
2025-02-27T14:13:14.204ZNew game! Pokemon Champions is all about the battles “you know and love from traditional games.” Made by GameFreak and currently in development, this one is coming to Switch and mobile.
2025-02-27T14:08:09.856ZPokemon TCG Pocket next, which is showing off a new booster pack called Triumphant Light.
2025-02-27T14:06:49.984ZCurrently blasting through the mobile games, with content reminders for the likes of Pokemon GO, Sleep, Cafe Remix, and more.
2025-02-27T14:04:16.690ZMy boy Arcanine is coming to Pokemon Concierge! New episodes coming to Netflix in September.
2025-02-27T14:02:51.221ZSome words from CEO Ishihara, who starts with some words of thanks.
2025-02-27T14:01:17.706ZAnd here we go!
2025-02-27T13:51:00.218ZOn that note, there’s only 10 minutes to go!
2025-02-27T13:50:43.550ZAs it would happen, some clever fans have discovered that you can use a screen reader to find out that the Pokemon Presents showcase is 19 minutes long. What are you hoping to see? Z-A? Pokemon Back 2 Sleep?
2025-02-27T13:00:20.208ZWe’ve only got one hour to go until the Pokemon Presents stream! So I reckon I’ll grab a spot of lunch.
2025-02-27T12:52:25.594ZWe’re talking about Pokemon Day here, though some are looking even further ahead. CEO Tsunekazu Ishihara tells the BBC that the franchise can continue for another 70 years but warns Pokemon “will go downhill” if “we become complacent and go with the flow.”

Now for some real news. After Toyota made a Miraidon motorcycle replica in real life, Honda is making a Koraidon, but this one will have the ability “to walk on all four legs.” Talk about a flex.
2025-02-27T12:11:30.626ZMe? A Pokemon game that runs well would certainly be fab, but I’m more curious about the kind of experimentation Pokémon Legends Arceus offered. Mainline Pokemon games always scratch a nostalgic itch for me, but seeing something fresh is neat.
As our Pokemon Legends Arceus review says, the gem “is a refreshing take on the Pokemon formula, stripping back the game to focus on the titular creatures with such great success.”
Or, we could just announce a new Pokemon Mystery Dungeon game so we can all go home happy.
2025-02-27T11:34:28.158ZPokemon Presents Predictions for Pokemon Day 2025 – YouTube
Two people with high hopes for Z-A are former Nintendo PR managers Kit Ellis and Krysta Yang. You can check out their video above for their full thoughts, though they reckon Z-A is a chance to get it right following Scarlet and Violet’s bumpy launch. They also predict a late release date to be revealed that could land in the fall. Thoughts?
2025-02-27T11:20:02.193ZI imagine Pokemon Legends Z-A is the main event for later, though the Switch 2 direct on the horizon casts an interesting shadow. Could we get an early peak at what the Switch 2 can do? Will we see much of Z-A at all? All will be answered in time, I’m sure.
2025-02-27T11:17:29.310ZWhat’ll be interesting is how long the Pokemon Presents showcase actually is. We’ve seen previous broadcasts stretch to 25-ish minutes when The Pokemon Company has a mainline game like Scarlet and Violet to show, though we’ve also seen streams hit the 15-minute mark.
2025-02-27T11:09:22.713ZAs for where you can watch it, the YouTube link is above. A countdown will likely begin 10 minutes before the start time so you can shuffle in without missing a beat.
2025-02-27T10:33:41.306ZFirst things first. The Pokemon Presents showcase kicks off at 6am PT / 9am ET / 2pm GMT. That’s rough if you’re over in America, but I digress. We’ve still got a few hours yet, so go about your day – be it pretending to work or otherwise.
2025-02-27T10:01:55.614ZAnd away we go! It’s Pokemon Day once more so we’re taking the time to reminisce over our favorite pocket pals. The main event will be the big Pokemon Presents stream set to begin in a few hours, but do check in to catch up on everything you need to know before the event.
