Oscars 2025: Georgina Chapman Reacts to Adrien Brody’s Halle Berry Kiss

Watch: Oscars 2025: See Adrien Brody, Halle Berry Recreate That 2003 Kiss on Red Carpet

Adrien Brody’s girlfriend Georgina Chapman was a willing accomplice to his recent PDA with Halle Berry.

As soon as Adrien and Halle—whose iconic 2003 Oscars kiss made headlines around the world—crossed paths at the 97th Academy Awards March 2, the Catwoman star knew she had a mission to fulfill. (See everyone who won big at the 2025 Oscars here.)

Over two decades ago, The Brutalist star surprised the actress, who had presented him with his Best Actor award for The Pianist, with a now-infamous kiss live onstage. And after all these years, Halle flipped the script and planted one on him in the middle of an interview with Access Hollywood. As for how his girlfriend of nearly five years reacted? Well, it turns out she was in on the whole plan.

“It was [quite the moment,] wasn’t it,” Georgina said to Extra after the kiss. “I mean, how can you deny a man a kiss with Halle Berry?”

Making it clear that she was absolutely fine with it, the fashion designer also quipped, “He was more than fine.”

After all, this moment has been long overdue—especially in Halle’s eyes.

“Twenty-one years I’ve been waiting to get him on a red carpet and slap one on,” Halle told the outlet, adding that the iconic recreation couldn’t have happened without Georgina’s blessing, “only because she was fine could I do it.”

But his iconic kiss with Halle wasn’t the only time Adrien turned heads during the March 2 ceremony. Indeed, after he won Best Actor for the second time, he refused to end his acceptance speech. Despite the in-house orchestra beginning to play music midway through his remarks, he went as far as telling them to simply stop.

“I’m wrapping up. Please. Please. I will wrap up,” the 51-year-old said as he exceeded the 45-second time limit. “Please turn the music off. I’ve done this before. It’s not my first rodeo. I will be brief.”

Ultimately, his speech went on for a full five minutes, and at a whopping 558 words, earned itself a spot among the longest acceptance speeches in Oscars history.

“One thing that I’ve gained, having the privilege to come back here—is to have some perspective,” he continued. “No matter where you are in your career, no matter what you’ve accomplished, it can all go away. And I think what makes this night most special is the awareness of that.”

And, of course, he used some of that precious extra time to thank his sweet partner.

“I share this with my amazing partner Georgina,” he gushed, “who has not only reinvigorated my own self-worth, but my sense of value and my values.”

Adrien also gave a shoutout to Georgina’s kids, who she shares with ex-husband Harvey Weinstein. “Dash and India,” he said, “I know it’s been a rollercoaster, but thank you for accepting me into your life.”
