“Only 2 Genders – Male And Female”: Donald Trump To US Congress

In his first address to US Congress, President Donald Trump recalled the list of executive orders he has signed including a crackdown on illegal immigration and gender dysphoria. Trump made it clear that there are only two genders – male and female.

Trump told a joint session that he had ended the “tyranny” of diversity and inclusion programs across the federal government, vowing that the US would be “woke no longer.”

Trump’s televised speech focuses on “the renewal of the American dream”.

The speech comes after Trump paused military aid to Ukraine and announced 25 per cent tariffs on goods entering the US from Canada and Mexico. The US also raised the previously imposed 10 percent tariff on China to 20 percent.

Here are Highlights of Donald Trump’s Congress address:

In his first address to Congress since returning to the Oval Office, US President Donald Trump declared that his administration had already achieved more in 43 days than most did in four or even eight years. In his nearly 99-minute-long speech – the longest of any modern president in such a setting – Trump touched upon various issues ranging from tariffs, Russia-Ukraine war, to immigration. Here is a list of people who found a mention in Trump’s speech:

  • Volodymyr Zelensky, Ukrainian President
  • Melania Trump – First Lady
  • Elon Musk – CEO of Tesla and SpaceX
  • Kash Patel – FBI Director
  • Robert F Kennedy Jr – US Health Secretary
  • Haley Ferguson & Elliston Berry – Melania Trump’s Guests

US President Donald Trump on Tuesday said his administration is seeking permanent income tax cuts for all Americans, hit hard by inflation. He also reiterated his promise to end taxes on overtime pay, tips and Social Security.

“I’m calling for no tax on tips, no tax on overtime and no tax on Social Security benefits for our great seniors,” he said during his joint address to the Congress.

An Islamic State operative allegedly responsible for a deadly 2021 suicide bombing outside Kabul airport during the chaotic US military withdrawal has been arrested, President Donald Trump said Tuesday.

The bomber detonated a device among packed crowds as they tried to flee Afghanistan on August 26, 2021. The blast killed some 170 Afghans and 13 US troops securing the perimeter.

During his address to Congress. Trump announced that Pakistan had assisted in the arrest of “the top terrorist responsible for that atrocity.”

Alexis Nungaray, the mother of Jocelyn Nungaray, was one of several “everyday Americans” seated alongside First Lady Melania Trump at the event.

“Alexis is an angel mom and the mother of Jocelyn Nungaray, a 12-year-old girl who was murdered by two illegal aliens during a walk to a corner store,” the First Lady said in a statement ahead of the address.

“The Biden administration apprehended and released these vicious illegal aliens into the country just weeks before Jocelyn’s murder,” the statement read.

Jocelyn Nungaray was murdered on June 16, 2024. She had snuck out of her home around 10 PM and was later found dead in a ditch near her home the next morning. The investigation revealed that she was sexually assaulted and strangled by two Venezuelan nationals, Johan Jose Martinez-Rangel and Franklin Jose Pena Ramos, who had entered the US illegally.

Seen among the Democrats were also signs that read “That is a lie”, “Save Medicaid”, “(Elon) Musk Steals” and “Protect Veterans”. The signs reflected anger over Musk-led Department of Government Efficiency-led actions to implement massive spending cuts and freezes, including laying off thousands of federal workers.

The protests began even before Donald Trump reached the dais. As he entered the house, New Mexico Representative Melanie Stansbury held a sign that read “This is NOT normal’. Later, Republican Lance Gooden from Texas snatched the sign and flung it in the air.

Donald Trump’s first Congress address during his second term as US President saw regular bouts of Republican applause being met by strong messaging from the Democrat benches. As Trump delivered strong messages on tariffs, gender, farmers and citizenship, Democrat Congressman from Texas Al Green was escorted out of the House for shouting during the President’s speech.

As most Democrats assumed an icy silence, Green shouted “You don’t have mandate”, referring to cuts in Medicaid, a major source of funding in the US healthcare system. As he waved his cane and delivered the heated statement, House speaker Mike Johnson said that members are engaging in “willful and concerted breach of decorum”.

President Donald Trump repeated his desire for the United States to acquire Greenland, pledging to the autonomous Danish territory’s population that “we will keep you safe.”

“We need it really for international world security — and I think we’re going to get it. One way or the other we’re going to get it,” he said. “Together, we will take Greenland to heights like you have never thought possible before.”

Marc is an American history teacher who was held hostage by the Russian government and wrongfully sentenced to 14 years in a Russian prison. On February 12, President Trump fulfilled his promise to Malphine Fogel, Marc’s 95-year-old mother, that he would bring Marc home.

While talking about Russia-Ukraine war, Trump didn’t miss a chance to talk about Marc.

President Donald Trump said that he is “working tirelessly” to end the savage conflict in Ukraine. “Millions of Ukrainians and Russians have been needlessly killed or wounded in this horrific and brutal conflict, with no end in sight. The United States has sent hundreds of billions of dollars to support Ukraine’s defense with no security… 2,000 people being killed every single week… Meanwhile, Europe has sadly spent more money buying Russian Oil and Gas than they have spent on defending Ukraine – by far! And we have spent perhaps $350 billion like taking candy from the baby and they have sent $100 billion.”

“Panama Canal is build by Americans for Americans and not others. Others can use it,” said Trump as he clarified that his administration will “reclaim” the Panama Canal.

“To further enhance our national security, my administration will be reclaiming the Panama Canal, and we’ve already started doing it,” he said in a speech to Congress. “We’re taking it back.”

January Littlejohn is a mother and parents’ rights advocate who sued the School Board of Leon County after school officials at her daughter’s middle school socially transitioned her daughter to a different sexual identity without January and her husband’s knowledge or permission. The school drove a wedge between January’s daughter and her parents, and deceived January about their covert plan to transition her daughter.

Soon after taking the office, Trump signed an executive order banning public schools from indoctrinating children with transgender ideology.

US President Donald Trump on Tuesday addressed the issue of rising inflation in the United States and blamed his predecessor Joe Biden’s administration for rising food and fuel prices. Referring to his oil and gas plans, the President said America has “more liquid gold under our feet than any nation” which could defeat inflation and dramatically lower costs.

Hirings in the US will be based on merit and the country “will no longer be woke”, President Donald Trump told a joint session of Congress today, as he stressed that his administration had ended the “tyranny” of diversity and inclusion programmes.

The US economy is set to see some “disturbance” from tariffs, President Donald Trump said Tuesday, but he touted levies as a tool that would help domestic industries boom.

“Tariffs are not just about protecting American jobs. They’re about protecting the soul of our country,” Trump said in his first address to a joint session of Congress since returning to the White House. “There’ll be a little disturbance, but we’re okay with that. It won’t be much.”

“Other countries have used tariffs against us for decades and now it is our turn to start using them against those other countries. On average, the European Union, China, Brazil, India…and countless other nations charge us tremendously higher tariffs than we charge them, it is very unfair. India charges us tariffs 100%…the system is not fair to US, it never was…on April 2, reciprocal tariffs kick in and whatever they tariff us, other countries, we will tariff them…whatever they tax us, we will tax them. If they do non-monetary tariff to keep us out of their market, then we will do non-monetary barriers to keep them out of our market…”

Allyson and Lauren, mother and sister of Laken Riley, a 22-year-old nursing student who was murdered by a man during a morning jog, were present during Trump’s first address to the US Congress.

The very first bill President Trump signed into law this year was named in Laken’s honor. The Laken Riley Act gives federal authorities broader power to detain and deport immigrants who are in the US illegally and have been accused of certain crimes, including shoplifting.

Speaking at the ceremony, Trump said, “It’s a tremendous tribute to your daughter what’s taking place today, that’s all I can say. It’s so sad we have to be doing it.”

Payton is a former high school athlete who had her dreams of competing in college sports crushed in a September 2022 volleyball match when a biological man playing on the opposing women’s team spiked the volleyball at Payton’s face, leaving her with a traumatic brain injury. “Payton joined with the Independent Women’s Forum and has made it her mission to put an end to this brutal unfairness,” reads the details on the White House website.

US President Donald Trump told a joint session of Congress on Tuesday he had ended the “tyranny” of diversity and inclusion programs across the federal government, vowing that the United States would be “woke no longer.”

“Our country will be woke no longer,” Trump said in his first address to Congress since his return to power after sweeping the November election.

“We ended all of Biden’s environmental restrictions that were making our country far less safe and totally unaffordable and importantly, we ended last administration’s insane electric vehicle mandate saving our auto workers and economy from disruption,” said Trump.

A US Democratic lawmaker was ejected from a joint session of Congress on Tuesday after he booed and shouted at Donald Trump while the president delivered a prime-time address.

Veteran congressman Al Green of Texas stood up, raised and shook his cane and shouted at Trump, prompting jeers from Republicans across the aisle and leading congressional aides to escort the African-American lawmaker out of the House of Representatives chamber as Trump looked on.

“I return to this chamber tonight to report that America’s momentum is back. Our spirit is back. Our pride is back. Our confidence is back,” Trump said during the most highly anticipated speech since his inauguration six weeks ago. “And the American Dream is surging — bigger and better than ever before. The American dream is unstoppable, and our country is on the verge of a comeback the likes of which the world has never witnessed, and perhaps will never witness again,” he added.

America is back, said President Donald Trump as he began his first address to the Congress. He recalled the initiatives taken in the first six weeks of his administration and how that is just the start.

“Six weeks ago, I stood beneath the dome of this Capitol and proclaimed the dawn of the Golden Age of America. From that moment on, it has been nothing but swift and unrelenting action to usher in the greatest and most successful era in the history of our country. We have accomplished more in 43 days than most administrations accomplish in 4 years or 8 years—and we are JUST GETTING STARTED.”

US Congressman Greg Stanton feels Trump’s first Congress address is “not going to be good” as the President will have to address certain pressing issues including cut in healthcare budget, turning back on Ukraine and tariffs.
