Nikki Glaser is looking back on her 2025 Golden Globes experience with pride.
Following a successful hosting gig of the awards ceremony on Sunday, Jan. 5, the comedian told Howard Stern on his SiriusXM show that while she was paid less than what a former male Globes host said he’d made, she “would’ve done it for free.”
Glaser’s comments came as Stern, 70, called the gig “a tremendous amount of work,” and said that he felt the Globes hosts are underpaid in general.
“I got paid pretty [well],” said Glaser, 40, on Jan. 6. “There was a past host who said how much money he got paid in his monologue, and I got less than that, but that’s okay. I’ll get more next year.”
While Glaser didn’t call out which host disclosed his salary she was referring to, Jerrod Carmichael notably said in 2023 during his hosting-stint monologue that he was paid $500,000 for the job.

Other male hosts in the recent past include Ricky Gervais in 2020 and Jo Koy in 2024. The 2021 ceremony was co-hosted by Tine Fey and Amy Poehler. The Globes didn’t have a show in 2022.
Glaser, who made a name for herself at various celebrity roasts, delivered a variety of zingers in her opening monologue on Sunday, including a hilarious shoutout to Ben Affleck.
“Tonight, we celebrate the best of film and hold space for television,” she said, before listing some of the films nominated for awards: “Yes, Wicked, Queer, Nightbitch.”
“These are not just words Ben Affleck yells after he orgasms. These are some of the incredible movies nominated tonight,” Glaser added.

On Stern’s show, Glaser said, “I feel well paid for what I do — I’m all right. And this first year, when you’re just trying to prove yourself, I honestly would’ve done it for free. It’s an insane platform to be on. It’s not about the money for me.”
Talking about the work involved versus the opportunity payoff, she added, “Who wouldn’t do what I did? I don’t understand that kind of person. It was hard work I guess, but I had fun doing it. I’m a little exhausted, but I’ll miss doing it.”
As for whether she will return to host the 2026 Globes, Glaser told Stern that the powers that be “haven’t asked me formally,” but “I can’t imagine they wouldn’t.”
