New York Leaders Push Back on Trump’s Threat to End Congestion Pricing

Just as Manhattan was beginning to see gridlock ease from New York’s congestion pricing scheme, the Trump administration said Wednesday it was moving to withdraw federal approval for the program. The move swiftly prompted a lawsuit from the Metropolitan Transportation Authority, accusing the US Department of Transportation of overstepping its authority.

And while President Donald Trump has already declared the toll “dead” on social media — in the same message proclaiming “long live the king” — MTA says the charge will remain in effect until there is a court decision.
