The Dallas Mavericks (32-32) host the Phoenix Suns (29-34) on a Sunday afternoon nationally televised match up on ABC. This game looked like a fantastic game from the schedule makers back in the fall, only for each team to be disappointing in their own ways. The Mavericks have lost four straight but they showed real signs of fight against the Memphis Grizzlies following a pair of blowouts. The Suns are coming off a brutal overtime loss to the Denver Nuggets. Here’s what you need to know about this contest:
- WHO: Dallas Mavericks vs Phoenix Suns
- WHAT: Fallen rivals on ABC
- WHERE: American Airlines Center, Dallas Texas
- WHEN: 2:30 pm CST
- HOW: ABC, MavsTV, and Playback with Kirk and David
As is tradition for the Mavericks at this point, the injury report is brutal. Anthony Davis, Kyrie Irving, Dereck Lively, Daniel Gafford, Jaden Hardy, Olivier Maxence Prosper, and Kai Jones are out. Dante Exum is listed as questionable as is Caleb Martin. I expect those last two to play. The Suns are missing Monte Morris with a low back issue.
The Suns don’t have any real injury issues, they’re just playing sad basketball. They should beat the pants off the Mavericks and yet I am pretty sure our Mavericks are going to make this one very uncomfortable for them. Let’s see how the guys come out and play. Spencer Dinwiddie is the real x-factor for me today.
As you can tell below, you can join me and some other Mavs Moneyball guys in a room on Playback (embedded below) during the game (though I may not be able to start it until halftime). Also, consider joining Josh and I on Pod Maverick live after the game on YouTube, we should start after the game. Thanks so much for spending time with us here at Mavs Moneyball. Let’s go Mavs!
