March Madness is finally here. With the brackets for the 2025 NCAA men’s and women’s tournaments now set, it’s time for the First Four. The first two games on the men’s side begin Tuesday night. The women’s First Four starts Wednesday.

The opening game of the men’s bracket delivered a dramatic finish with Alabama State beating Saint Francis 70-68 on a layup with a second left following a tipped full-court pass. Alabama State will now face No. 1 overall seed Auburn on Thursday.

Nos. 11 San Diego State and North Carolina play in Tuesday’s second game with the winner facing No. 6 Ole Miss in the South on Thursday.

On the men’s side, Auburn claimed the No. 1 overall seed over Duke while North Carolina and Texas snuck into the field — to the chagrin of a handful of snubbed teams. The SEC set a March Madness record when 14 of its 16 teams made the tournament.

UCLA took the No. 1 overall seed in the women’s tournament. The other three No. 1s were South Carolina, Texas and USC. The First Four starts on the men’s side on Tuesday; the women begin the First Four games on Wednesday.
