The Aggies just took their first lead of the game on Pharrel Payne’s alley-oop from Wade Taylor IV.

Neither team is shooting the lights out yet. Michigan is 3-9 and 0-4 from 3-point range while Texas A&M is 3-8 and 0-2.

Those who weren’t Michigan fans likely did not have them advancing to the second game of the NCAA Tournament, as UC San Diego was the pick for those looking for the traditional 12th seed upset of a fifth seed.

However, the Wolverines did hold on to advance and now face the fourth-seeded Texas A&M Aggies on Saturday evening.

Wade Taylor IV leads the Aggies with 15.7 points per game, plus 3.1 rebounds and 4.3 assists. Zhuric Phelps averages 11.8 points and 4.8 rebounds.

Texas A&M is especially strong on the offensive glass, leading the country with 16 offensive rebounds per game.

Vlad Goldin led the Wolverines with 16.6 points per game and Danny Wolf averaged a team-best 9.9 rebounds. Tre Donaldson had a similar assist average to Taylor, with 4.2.

The line favors the Aggies by 2½ points, but if the game is that close, the Wolverines are likely to win.

Michigan is 13-4 in games decided by four points or less and they have won 11 straight, including Thursday’s game against UC San Diego.
