I don’t know if it’s my brain being overtired after the opening weekend of a 16 DAY Christmas Break for my kids or my eye for art evolving now that I’m on the wrong side of 40. But I have to say, that Fiona Apple-esque take on a Christmas classic made a whole lot of sense to me. The bastardization of a holiday that honors a man who is called a bastard by His haters along with a glimpse of how fucked humanity can be. The only part I didn’t get was the chick in the aquarium. That shit was weird as hell. I feel like we are hours away from Kanye saying the entire premise of this video was stolen from his brain when it was in the Super Weird stage a few years ago. 

I could also be completely wrong about everything because I am a professional idiot. But I do have to applaud the twist ending of ol’ Kevin McCallister being the one filming all this debauchery going down while in full Santa gear. It did feel a little weird since he was the face of Christmas as a kid. But ending up in a house like that after surviving two consecutive Christmas seasons where you fought off a duo of career criminals because your parents forgot about you is about the best case scenario for someone like that, let alone the 12-6 curveball that not even M. Night has in his repertoire these days.
