Is Zendaya at the Oscars? Look back at her past red carpet ensembles

Zendaya, one of Hollywood’s best-dressed actresses, was notably absent from Sunday’s 2025 Oscars red carpet.

The A-lister was snubbed at this year’s award ceremony for her role in “Challengers,” a movie thought to have earned several nominations. However, “Dune: Part Two,” which she starred in with Timothée Chalamet

, is in the running for several awards, including best picture.

Last year, the actress was lauded for her Armani Privé gown, which she wore to

present the best cinematography award to “Oppenheimer.”

Zendaya made her Oscars debut in 2015 wearing a striking white Vivienne Westwood gown with long locs to compliment her look. It’s the same night “Fashion Police” host Giuliana Rancic made a racially offensive remark about her hair, stating that the actress probably “smells like patchouli oil or weed.” Her comments were met with backlash and a response from Zendaya herself, who called it “disrespectful.”

Nearly 10 years later, at a Teen Vogue panel event in 2024, the “Euphoria” star’s longtime stylist, Law Roach, said the incident catalyzed progressive conversations, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

“That one instance went on to actually change the way Black people’s hair was accepted in schools and the workplace,” Roach said. “So although we did not set out to make this big statement, because of the events that happened, The Crown Act was actually birthed from that incident.”

Since stepping on the scene, Zendaya’s ensembles have been a must-see on the red carpet. Here are photos of her looks from the Oscars throughout the years.
