Billie Eilish and Finneas won album of the year (pop) for Hit Me Hard and Soft at the iHeartRadio Music Awards, which were handed out Monday night. Taylor Swift, Benson Boone, SZA, GloRilla, Sabrina Carpenter and Green Day also were among the winners during the show.
The iHeartRadio Music Awards aim to celebrate the most-played artists and songs on iHeartRadio stations and the iHeartRadio app throughout 2024, while also offering a preview of the upcoming hits of 2025.
The 12th annual show, which aired live on Fox from the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, also honored Mariah Carey, Lady Gaga and Nelly with special awards. Carey received the Icon Award, Gaga was honored with the Innovator Award, Nelly received the Landmark Award, and Gracie Abrams was presented with the Breakthrough Artist of the Year Award.
LL Cool J served as host for the second time, with performances from Bad Bunny, Billie Eilish, GloRilla, Gracie Abrams, Kenny Chesney, Muni Long, Nelly and others. The show also included an exclusive performance from opening night of Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour, which was named iHeartRadio’s Tour of the Century Award.
The iHeartRadio Music Awards also paid tribute to Los Angeles following the devastating wildfires earlier this year, driving donations to Fireaidla.org. Contributions made to FireAid will be distributed under the advisement of the Annenberg Foundation.
This year, the nominations included five new socially voted awards: favorite soundtrack, favorite Broadway debut, favorite surprise guest, favorite tour tradition and favorite K-pop dance challenge.
Executive producers for the iHeartRadio Music Awards were Joel Gallen for Tenth Planet and John Sykes, Tom Poleman and Bart Peters for iHeartMedia.
