Here’s what Kieran Culkin said that led to censored Oscars 2025 speech

And now we know.

Best Supporting Actor Oscar winner “A Real Pain’s” Kieran Culkin was censored during his speech when he shouted out his former “Succession” co-star and fellow category nominee Jeremy Strong.

“Jeremy, you’re amazing in ‘The Apprentice.’ I love your work, it’s f–king great,” he said as he was bleeped.

Culkin also used his acceptance speech to hold his wife to a promise over having more children.

The actor, 42, kissed his wife Jazz Charton, 36, before taking the stage and delivering a classically Culkin — that is to say, wacky — acceptance speech after his name was called at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, California.

“I wanna really, I love you, Jazz. This is, I have to thank my wife, Jazz, for absolutely everything, for giving me my favorite people in the world,” he said.

“This is — please don’t play the music because I want to tell a really quick story about Jazz. About a year ago, I was on a stage like this and I very stupidly, publicly said that I want a third kid from her because she said if I won the award, I would, she would give me the kid,” the actor added, referring to his Best Lead Actor in a Drama Series win at the 75th Primetime Emmy Awards for his performance in “Succession.”

Culkin continued: “It turns out she said that because she didn’t think I was gonna win, but then people came up to her and were like, you know, really annoying her, I think, I think it got to her, but anyway.

“After the show we’re walking through a parking lot, she’s holding the Emmy, we’re trying to find a car,” he recalled.

“Emily, you were there, so you’re a witness, and she goes, ‘Oh God, I did say that. I guess I owe you a third kid,’ and I turned to her and I said, ‘Really I want four.’ And she turned to me, I swear to God this happened, it was just over a year ago, she said, ‘I will give you four when you win an Oscar.’ I held my hand out, she shook it, and I have not brought it up once until just now.”

The star concluded: “You remember that, honey? You do? Then, I just have this to say to you, Jazz, love of my life, ye of little faith. No pressure. I love you. I’m really sorry I did this again. And let’s get crackin’ on those kids. What do you say? I love you!”

Culkin and Strong were up against Yura Borisov (“Anora”), Edward Norton (“A Complete Unknown”) and Guy Pearce (“The Brutalist”) on Sunday night.

Zoe Saldana took home the golden statue in the Best Supporting Actress category for “Emilia Pérez,” Adrien Brody won Best Actor for “The Brutalist” and “Anora” newcomer Mikey Madison beat “The Substance” star Demi Moore for Best Actress in a huge upset. “Anora” went on to take the top prize for Best Picture.
