Halle Berry has cemented herself as a red carpet trendsetter since her very first Hollywood role in 1991’s Jungle Fever.
She’s a fan of pushing the sartorial envelope. Over her decades-long career, the Catwoman actress has championed everything from a Y2K-coded whale tale co-ord set to a gilded naked dress during award season. And while the actress wasn’t on this year’s list of nominees, she looked every inch a winner as she wore a mirrored crystal dress by Christian Siriano to the 2025 Oscars on Sunday, March 2.
Berry, who is presenting at tonight’s award ceremony, leaned into metallic aesthetic with her latest Oscar gown. As she posed on the red carpet for film’s biggest night, she sported a silver gown that fit her body like a glove. Made from 7,000 mirrored crystals, the dress featured a corseted bodice and a mermaid-style maxi skirt with a train in the back.

Adding even more sparkle to her look, the actress accessorized with diamond hoop earrings, a stack of glittering bracelets on one wrist, and a smattering of sparkly rings. Her brunette bob was styled sleek, straight, and tucked behind her ears, while a nude glossy lip and smoky eye makeup completed her glam.

While Berry isn’t nominated for an Oscar this year, she appeared to share her pick for Best Actress at this year’s Academy Awards. The X-Men actress seemingly hinted that she was rooting for Wicked’s Cynthia Erivo as she told host Trevor Noah that she “tired” of being the only Black actress to win an Oscar for Best Actress—an honor she won in 2002 for her role in Monster’s Ball.
“I hope this year someone stands next to me,” she told Noah during an episode of his What Now? podcast. “This year, I hope it happens because I’m tired of occupying that space alone.”
