Florida house collapses with 2 people inside during tornado

ORLANDO, Fla. (WFLA) — A tornado touched down Monday morning in Seminole County, north of Orlando.

A radar-confirmed tornado touched down along Interstate 4 at around 9:30 a.m., according to a report from NBC affiliate WESH.

The storm knocked out power and took down trees in the area, as well as dealing minor damage to some nearby structures.

“At 9:49 a.m., the Seminole County Fire Department responded to 2100 Block of Blue Iris in Longwood to a collapsed home due to weather impacts,” the fire department wrote on Florida. “There were two occupants and both were uninjured. Residents are currently safe. Other homes are being assessed for damage and Building Officials are also on scene. Please stay clear of area unless necessary.

The National Weather Service will conduct a storm survey in the area on Monday to determine the tornado’s path and intensity.
