Ex-Pence press secretary Katie Miller tapped to serve in DOGE

President-elect Donald Trump announced Sunday that Katie Miller will be joining the newly-created Department of Government Efficiency.

“Katie Miller will be joining DOGE! She has been a loyal supporter of mine for many years, and will bring her professional experience to Government Efficiency,” Mr. Trump wrote in a Truth Social post Sunday. “Katie is a deeply experienced communications professional respected by all.”

Ms. Miller served as deputy press secretary at the Department of Homeland Security from 2017 to 2019, and as press secretary for Vice President Mike Pence before becoming his communications director.

She is the wife of Stephen Miller, who has been tapped to be Mr. Trump’s homeland security advisor and deputy chief of staff for policy. Mr. Miller served as Mr. Trump’s speechwriter and senior adviser during his first term.

“Thank you @realDonaldTrump for your trust. Deeply honored to work for you at DOGE to make our government efficient and accountable,” she wrote in an X post on Sunday. “Let’s Make America Great Again!”

Mr. Trump announced another spousal appointment Sunday. He said he is appointing Callista Gingrich to serve as ambassador to Switzerland.

Mrs. Gingrich is the wife of former Speaker Newt Gingrich, Georgia Republican. She previously served as ambassador to the Vatican during his first administration.

“I am pleased to announce Callista L. Gingrich will be our next United States Ambassador to Switzerland. Happily married to the Great Newt Gingrich, Callista previously served, with distinction, as my Ambassador to the Holy See,” he wrote.

“During her tenure, Callista worked to advance and defend international religious freedom, combat human trafficking, and provide humanitarian assistance around the World,” he said.
