If Kate Winslet had a dollar for every tear I shed while watching Titanic she’d be a multi-millionaire. And…she certainly is! Kate has been steadily working since she was a teen (if you haven’t seen Heavenly Creatures, watch it immediately), and flawlessly pivoted from the heyday of huge Hollywood paychecks to the peak of prestige TV salaries. Time to take a closer / respectfully nosy look at her net worth.

Not enough considering she had to spend a majority of her time filming being perpetually damp. But according to Yahoo, Kate earned $2 million for the film—which sounds like a lot (and is!), but just FYI that Leonardo DiCaprio earned $2.5 million. On top of that, Leo allegedly negotiated a cut off the back end, which earned him another $40 million, while Kate didn’t. Don’t love that pay discrepancy, but moving on!
What About Her Other Movies?
Kate’s starred in some hugely popular films over the years, including Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Revolutionary Road, Sense and Sensibility, Divergent, obviously The Holiday, and most recently Lee.

The exact amount she made for each of these titles is unknown, but in 2009, The Hollywood Reporter said that Kate (who’d won an Oscar at this point) was “hard pressed” to cross the $4 million mark per film. So, sounds like she was earning ~$4 million per project.
She’s Made a Ton from Prestige Television
Mare of Easttown is one of Kate’s best acting roles to-date, and Variety reports that she earned a lot for the performance: specifically, $600,000 to $750,000 per episode. Since then she’s starred in The Regime—which also aired on HBO, so gonna go ahead and assume her salary for that was the same if not more.
She Has Millions in Real Estate
Kate’s been buying and selling real estate since starring in Titanic and she has quite a collection of homes. According to Architectural Digest, she owns a $4.6 million 17th-century house in the seaside village of West Wittering, and at one point had a penthouse in NYC that she rented out for $30,000 a month (before selling it for $5.69 million). Kate and her ex husband Sam Mendes previously owned a townhouse in London which they bought for $3.57 million and then sold to Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin for $4.1. Oh, and let’s not forget their $5.9 million home in the Cotswolds!
So, What’s Kate Winslet’s Total Net Worth?
According to Celebrity Net Worth, that’d be $65 million. Which makes sense considering the length of Kate’s career and the transparent number of films and television shows she’s been in!
