Ashton Jeanty and the Boise State Broncos were eliminated from the College Football Playoff following a 31-14 loss to the Penn State Nittany Lions.
Following the loss for the Broncos, Colorado Buffaloes head coach and NFL legend Deion Sanders took to social media to send Jeanty a message.
He reacted to a quote from Jeanty, in which he praised God for the success of Boise State.
“I have to thank God,” Jeanty said. “The way he’s been moving through this team and blessing us, God’s favor is over us.”
Sanders mentioned that he was proud of Jeanty and gave the Broncos star some words of advice as he potentially turns the page to the NFL.
“Proud of you, young man,” Sanders said. “Your future is as bright as it gets. Keep God 1st, which I know u will. Dismiss the fools that are negative on every day that ends with a “Y”. You are HIM my man. God has u covered. Ashton Jeanty.”
The Broncos suffered a brutal loss to the Nittany Lions in the Fiesta Bowl, but it was surely a successful season by Boise State’s national standard.
Boise State finished the season with a 12-2 record. They suffered losses to Penn State and Oregon while winning the Mountain West Championship.
In the loss to Penn State, Jeanty recorded 104 yards on 30 carries.

Jeanty finished his historic college football season with 29 touchdowns on 374 carries and 2,601 rushing yards, the second-most rushing yards in a single season in NCAA history.
The 5-foot-9 running back was the Heisman Trophy runner-up, falling short of winning the award to Colorado Buffaloes star Travis Hunter.
