Colman Domingo continued his eye-catching style streak on the Oscars 2025 red carpet.
The actor, 55, arrived to Hollywood’s Dolby Theatre in a custom Maison Valentino look created for him by creative director Alessandro Michele. The ensemble features a red shantung silk double-breasted tailored jacket with black lapel, black wool trousers and a red shantung silk guru collar shirt. He also wore a belt with tassels closed at the waist.
He accessorized with jewelry from Maison Boucheron and customized Persol “Ida” sunglasses.
“I wanted to be the color of love tonight, so I wore red,” Domingo told ET on the carpet. “I feel good. I have love around me and I wanted to be love and I feel very blessed and just grounded in what this is. Tonight is just a win already, I’m here.”

Ahead of the Academy Awards, Domingo told PEOPLE that as a “newly minted house ambassador for Valentino,” the brand’s Creative Director Alessandro Michele worked with his styling duo Wayman Bannerman and Micah McDonald “to create something that makes me feel, I guess, right for the moment.”

The actor — who’s been a red carpet regular this awards season — works closely with Wayman and Micah on his dynamic lineup of looks which he describes as “effortlessly luxurious.”
“I want to look like I’m having a good time and also want to look like I’m festive in some way,” Domingo said in an exclusive interview PEOPLE ahead of the Oscars. “I’m not only at the party, but I am the party.”
This awards season, he continued to raise the bar for menswear, as seen with his Valentino moment at the Golden Globes, his incredibly sexy Versace fit (which showed some skin) at the BAFTAs and his sharp Valentino suiting at the SAG Awards.

Domingo makes history as the first performer to score back-to-back Best Actor Oscar nominations, following his nomination for Rustin last year, since Denzel Washington earned the honor for Fences and Roman J. Israel Esq. in 2017 and 2018.
For this 2024 nomination, hit the Oscars red carpet in a black double-breasted suit complete with intricate buttons and trousers that flared over a pair of chic, steel-toe cowboy boots.

The actor, who told PEOPLE last year, “I recognize that I’m having a moment,” said he has room for “one or two Oscars,” next to the Emmy he won in 2022. Domingo was awarded outstanding guest actor in a drama series for his role in Euphoria.
Selecting his angelic, all-white suit for the 2022 Emmy Awards was a moment Domingo told PEOPLE he will “never forget.”
“We were going through different looks,” he said. “And then the question, [Domingo’s stylist] said, ‘Coleman, how do you want to feel 20 years later, when you’re looking at a photo of you winning your first Emmy?’ And I said, ‘I want to be in white, and just cream white.’ ”

Domingo told PEOPLE his looks change depending on “the story that I want to tell” in a particular moment.
He added, “Sometimes I don’t mind receding and finding just a bit more of a monochromatic look that just makes me feel elegant, and let it be about the words that I’m speaking rather than the clothes.”
