Beyoncé won Best Country Album for Cowboy Carter at the 2025 Grammy Awards on Sunday, Feb. 2, cementing her place in country music history and becoming the first Black woman to win in this category.
The 43-year-old global superstar released Cowboy Carter on March 29, 2024, which included more than two dozen tracks and a range of collaborators, including Dolly Parton, Miley Cyrus, Post Malone, and more.

I’d like to thank all of the incredible country artists that accepted album. We worked so hard on it.”
She continued, “I think sometimes genre is a cold word to keep us in our place as artists, and I just want to encourage people to do what they’re passionate about and to stay persistent.”

The singer also thanked her family, all of the artists who collaborated on the country album, as well as her fans and God. “I’m still in shock. Thank you so much for this honor,” she concluded.
When introducing the category, Swift recalled when she won the award almost exactly 15 years ago. “It’s an honor that has gone to great artists who I admire so much, like the Chicks, Johnny Cash, Loretta Lynn, George Strait, Faith Hill, Vince Gill, Alison Krauss and Shania Twain,” she said.
Beyoncé topped this year’s nominations with 11 nods, including three major categories: Album of the Year for Cowboy Carter, Record of the Year for “Texas Hold ‘Em,” and Song of the Year for “Texas Hold ‘Em.” She also earned nominations for Best Country Solo Performance for “16 Carriages” and Best Americana Performance for “Ya Ya.”
She won her first award of the night at the 2025 Grammy pre-ceremony on Sunday. Beyoncé’s “II Most Wanted,” featuring Miley Cyrus from Cowboy Carter was named Best Country Duo/Group Performance, bringing her grand total to 33 awards (so far). She’s currently the most-awarded artist in Grammys history.
On Saturday, Feb. 1, Beyoncé officially announced the “Cowboy Carter Tour” on Instagram, after teasing a big reveal during her Christmas Day NFL Halftime performance. The “Cowboy Carter Tour” dates have yet to be announced.
