Bears fans rejoice on social media after Chicago finally beats the Packers, ends losing streak

It’s been a minute.

660 football minutes to be exact.

The Green Bay Packers had beaten the rival Chicago Bears 11 straight times and 16 of 17. All Cheeseheads have had bragging rights since 2018.

And while the Packers were sluggish all afternoon in the regular-season finale at Lambeau Field against the Bears, it looked like they were going to defeat their NFC North rivals for a 12th straight time when Brandon McManus kicked a 55-yard field goal with 54 seconds remaining. The ghosts of green and gold past appeared to be lurking again. Not so fast.

With the help of an unnecessary roughness penalty on Kingsley Enagbare, all that past Bears horror was suddenly exorcised when Cairo Santos’ 51-yard field goal attempt went through the uprights with no time left on the clock. Game over. Bears 24, Packers 22.

Bears fans can finally point to the scoreboard while Packers fans can point to the playoffs (even if Green Bay is limping in).

Despite the fact that Jordan Love, Christian Watson and Josh Jacobs didn’t play much of the day, Bears fans were ready to talk the talk on social media. They’ve been quiet a long time:

But, just for kicks Caleb Williams fans, c’mon man.

And some Packers fans appear to be punting on the season after this one.
