An autopsy has been scheduled for a man who was killed at a Sheetz store on Christmas Eve in York County.
The York County Coroner’s Office said the autopsy will take place at 10 a.m. Thursday at Lehigh Valley Hospital in Allentown.
The victim’s name hasn’t been released at this time.
The coroner’s office was dispatched to the Sheetz store on the North George Street Extension in East Manchester Township at 5:36 p.m. Tuesday for a man who had reportedly been involved in a shooting in the parking lot.
The York County Regional Police Department is investigating the shooting with the assistance of York County detectives.
Police were dispatched to the store at 5:12 p.m. and discovered a victim – identified as a man in his early 20s – who had sustained at least one gunshot wound, and was unable to be saved despite officers’ best resuscitation efforts, according to York County Regional Police Department Chief Tim Damon.
Investigators believe there were multiple assailants who targeted the victim, Damon said, although he would not elaborate on how police had determined this, or what relationship the victim may have had to the shooter or shooters.
