The Sun Devils roll the dice, converting a fake punt on 4th and 9 on their own 21-yard line. Punter Kanyon Floyd found reserve defensive tackle Blazen Lono-Wong for a 32-yard gain. Arizona State holds the ball at midfield with under two minutes to play in the first half. 

Arizona State opted to go for it on 4th and 10, sitting right outside of field goal range. The Longhorns swarmed ASU quarterback Sam Leavitt, as the Sun Devils turned the ball over on downs for the second-consecutive possession. Texas takes over in its own territory with five minutes to play in the first half. 

The Longhorns capitalize on the Sun Devils’ turnover on downs, driving into field goal range for three. Texas leads 17-3 with under 10 minutes to play in the second quarter. 

The Longhorns’ defense met Arizona State running back Cam Skattebo up the middle, stopping the Sun Devils on 4th down in Texas territory. Quinn Ewers and company take over early in the second quarter, leading 14-3. 

Texas return man Silas Bolden takes the Sun Devils’ punt all the way home, extending the Longhorns lead to 14-3. Texas has 14 points with two offensive snaps. 

Special teams came to play. Silas Bolden goes 75 yards to the house for the first punt return TD of the season.

The Longhorns storm down the field in two plays, taking a 7-3 lead over Arizona State. Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers found Matthew Golden for 54 yards on the Longhorns’ first offensive snap, and Ewers connected with DeAndre Moore for a 23-yard touchdown pass.
