Adrien Brody‘s girlfriend Georgina Chapman did not have a problem with his stunning red carpet moment with Halle Berry at the 2025 Oscars.
After Berry, 58, surprised everyone on the red carpet in Los Angeles on Sunday, March 2 when she recreated her and Brody’s famous 2003 Academy Awards kiss, fashion designer Chapman, 48, told Extra that the moment was all above board.
“It was [quite the moment,] wasn’t it?” Chapman, who has been dating Brody for roughly five years, told the outlet. “I mean, how can you deny a man a kiss with Halle Berry?”
“[Brody] was more than fine,” she added, when Extra noted that Berry had separately stated that Chapman was “fine” with the red carpet kiss.

The Academy Awards shared video of the kiss to its official social media channels on March 2, where Berry, 58, could be seen approaching Brody, 51, with her arms wide open. She then planted a big kiss on Brody before they shared a warm embrace. “I’m sorry Georgina, but I gotta do it,” Berry told Chapman just before kissing Brody; Chapman could be seen laughing and clapping as the kiss itself unfolded.

“Surpriseee @adrienbrody!! I had to get some payback 😉🫶🏽,” Berry wrote on Instagram when she shared her own video of the surprise red carpet kiss.
The Oscars proved a major night for The Brutalist‘s star Brody, who walked away with his second career Oscar for his performance as a Hungarian born, Holocaust survivor architect and immigrant in Brady Corbet’s latest movie. Brody made sure to thank Chapman and her two kids, whom she shares with ex-husband Harvey Weinstein, as he accepted the Oscar.

During Brody’s speech, he said he shared the award “with my amazing partner [Chapman,] who has not only reinvigorated my own self worth but my sense of value and my values and her beautiful children, Dash and India, I know this as been a roller coaster but thank you for accepting me into your life and Popsie’s coming home a winner.”
Brody won Best Actor — his second career Oscar — over fellow nominees Timothée Chalamet (A Complete Unknown), Colman Domingo (Sing Sing), Ralph Fiennes (Conclave) and Sebastian Stan (The Apprentice). He famously kissed an unsuspecting Berry at the 2003 Academy Awards while she presented him with his first Best Actor award for his performance in The Pianist.
