Player Ratings: Leganes 2-3 Real Madrid; 2025 Copa del Rey Quaterfinal

Full match Player Ratings below:

Andriy Lunin — 6.5: Made three saves and had little fault in the goals conceded. Distribution with his feet was below par.

Fede Valverde — 7.5: Puts in a shift regardless of position — finished with a team high of 4 completed tackles.

Raul Asencio — 6.5: Another solid display at the heart of the defense.

Jacobo Ramon — 3: A starting debut to forget for young Jacobo. Mistimed tackles, took the defense out of shape, and had several clearances fall to dangerous spaces on the pitch. Looked slow in transition and struggled when pulled out wide to defend 1v1.

Ferland Mendy — 5: Providing little value on both sides of the ball — drop-off in form this season has been a major concern.

Tchouameni — 8: The Frenchman’s two best performances this season have been in the Copa del Rey (Celta, Leganes) and both at his natural position as a defensive midfielder.

Luka Modric — 8.5: Class is permanent for 39-year-old Luka Modric. Played a match against Leganes as if it were the UCL final. A man that has seen and won it all, playing like he still has a point to prove. Barking orders at teammate, bouncing around the pitch connecting passes, scoring goals, and creating plays. Modric did it all.

Arda Guler — 5.5: Underwhelming season thus far for Arda Guler and tonight was no different.

Brahim Diaz — 8: The unsung hero of this team. The constant creator with 4 key passes, 4 completed dribbles, he hit the crossbar, and produced the game-winning assist in the 93rd minute.

Rodrygo — 7.5: Only played the first half but was devastating cutting inside from the left. Provided the assist on the opening goal from Luka Modric.

Endrick — 6.5: What is the best way to define the young Brazilian’s game? A raw chaotic fireball with the knack of being in the right place at the right time. Despite some rough touches and some ugly challenges, scored another opportunistic goal.

Substitutes:

Dani Ceballos— 6: Added a deeper midfielder to the center of the pitch.

Vinicius Junior—5: Should have scored at least one of his two big chances, including a header from 2 yards out.

Fran Garcia— 6: Made some effective offball runs.

Gonzalo Garcia— 8: Game-winner in the 93rd minute, doesn’t get better than that for the Castilla striker.
