Conclave and Nosferatu Together Garner 12 Academy Award® Nominations

The film’s producers—Tessa Ross, Juliette Howell, and Mike Jackman—issued a joint statement upon hearing of their Best Picture nomination: “We’re absolutely thrilled by today’s nominations and honored that the Academy has recognized the extraordinary team that we were lucky enough to bring together, to deliver Edward Berger’s brilliant vision.” “It is my past, all that I have in me, that I brought to my interpretation of Sister Agnes,” Rossellini said, adding, “Thank you to the Academy. I am very honored.”

Straughan, who won a Golden Globe for his adapted screenplay, said, “Conclave was a labor of love from the beginning because of all the wonderful people involved – from author Robert Harris to producer Tessa Ross, to director Edward Berger, to our amazing cast led by Ralph Fiennes.” Bertelmann, who won the Oscar® last year for his score for Berger’s All Quiet on the Western Front, said, “To be nominated for the film Conclave that is so well crafted, with such an amazing cast and outstanding work in all the departments makes me very happy. The collaboration with Edward Berger is for me a big gift and allows me to search and discover a lot of possibilities.” Emerson responded to his nomination by expressing, “Working with director Edward Berger was a joyful collaboration from start to finish. I thank him for the brilliance, inspiration and friendship.”
