TORNADO WATCH IN EFFECT UNTIL 2PM ET

A TORNADO WATCH has been issued for our area until 2:00pm EDT. This includes every county along the Grand Strand, Pee Dee, and Border Belt regions. A line of strong to potentially severe storms will approach the I-95 corridor later this morning and it will bring the potential for strong to severe wind gusts, along with a few tornadoes possible.

Severe weather will be possible from 10am through this evening for the region, though the bulk of the worst weather may be gone well before sunset.

Futurecast radar shows active weather in a line moving through the region from late morning through the afternoon, though rain/storms may continue closer toward sunset even after severe weather ends.

No matter the risk, it’s always a good idea to have a way to get a warning if one is used. Best way to do that is go to your app store and search “WPDE WX”.

Download the app and turn on notifications and location.
