Thousands of OG&E customers without power as high winds down lines in OKC

OKLAHOMA CITY, OKLA (KOKH) — OG&E customers may be experiencing vast power outages during severe winds today, March 14.

As of 3:10 p.m., OG&E reported 34,490 outages statewide.

Powerlines in the Oklahoma City area have been reported as downed due to high wind speeds.

Summit Middle School and Charles Haskell Elementary in Edmond are currently without power.

According to OG&E, power is expected to be restored this afternoon.

Additionally, stop lights are out due to a power outage near Northwest 23rd Street and Broadway Avenue in Oklahoma City.

Traffic delays are expected while OG&E works to restore power.

The City of Edmond announced that Edmond Electric is currently dispatching crews to a large power outage affecting 1,325 customers as of 3:10 p.m.

The outages are between 2nd and Coffee Creek from Broadway to Coltrane.
