The Cleveland Cavaliers secured their 14th consecutive win with a 112-100 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks, marking a significant achievement with a league-best 54-10 record. Despite a strong performance from Giannis Antetokounmpo, the Bucks fell short. NBA legend Charles Barkley critiqued media coverage for favoring bigger market teams like the Lakers over dominant teams like the Cavaliers.
The Cleveland Cavaliers have secured another huge win against the Milwaukee Bucks. The Cavs’ 112-100 win against the Bucks added another collective milestone for the team as they have claimed 14 consecutive wins. The undefeated 14-game streak has propelled wide reaction a few days after NBA legend Charles Barkley’s huge shout out to the team that standing on the top of the chart at the Eastern Conference.
The Cleveland Cavaliers are roaring with dominance in the NBA, and Giannis Antetokounmpo and his Milwaukee Bucks company are far from stopping their defense. Despite a dominant 30-point performance from the former MVP and 22 points from Damian Lillard, the Bucks fell short at home, losing 112-100 to the red-hot Cavs. This win not only extended Cleveland’s current streak to 14 straight victories but also marked the second time this season they’ve accomplished such a feat. Their latest feat was an achievement only six other teams in NBA history have ever matched.
Sitting atop the Eastern Conference standings with a league-best 54-10 record, the Cavaliers have already punched their ticket to the playoffs with 18 games still remaining in the regular season.
While Cleveland continues to assert dominance in the league, NBA analyst Charles Barkley had some choice words about the league’s media coverage. In a fiery rant, he recently aimed what he called an overemphasis on the Los Angeles Lakers and Golden State Warriors, particularly by ESPN. Barkley believes teams like the Cavaliers and the Oklahoma City Thunder— both of whom sit atop their respective conferences— are being overlooked in favor of bigger market teams.
He didn’t hold back, even calling ESPN analyst Kendrick Perkins an “idiot” for suggesting that the Lakers “saved the NBA” with their recent strong play. “I saw a fool, an idiot on TV talking about the ‘Lakers saved the NBA’… he’s an idiot and a fool, he knows who he is—what’s his name, Shaq?” Barkley said. “Kendrick Perkins. First off, the Lakers have had a great two weeks. He said the Lakers saved the NBA season, but that’s because those fools on the other network, which I’ll be working with next year, are the only ones they talk about.”
The debate continued with Perkins’ heated response. Back to the Cavs, they have been dominant this season and in their playoff run.
It is no secret that the Cavaliers are the top and one of the toughest contenders in the league, and their streak of dominance has helped them reign over the NBA’s most accomplished and decorated teams. Following their 14-win streak, NBA fans took to social media to respond to their feelings on the latest achievement of the team.
“They are on a mission,” one fan wrote.
“Cavs on a historic tear this season!” another wrote.
“Cavs/OKC championship gonna hit like crack,” one fan also hailed the Western Conference topper Oklahoma City Thunder.
“future champs,” another predicted echoing Barkley.
