Lady Gaga is ready to marry the night… and her fiancé.
But that doesn’t mean the “Bad Romance” singer, who got engaged to Michael Polansky on April Fool’s Day 2024, is ready to share her wedding details just yet. In fact, she’s keeping a pretty straight poker face.
“I’m desperately trying to keep that so private,” Gaga told E! News in an exclusive interview, “but I would say I can promise that it will be the best day of my life.”
Though the 38-year-old—whose mom Cynthia Germanotta introduced her to the tech businessman in 2019—kept mum about her special day, she did gush about the touching way Michael proposed.
“He said to me, ‘If I ever proposed to you, how do I do that?’” she explained in the interview, airing March 10 at 11 p.m. “And I said, ‘Just get a blade of grass from the backyard and wrap it around my finger.’ And he did. He did that when he proposed.”
And as Gaga (real name Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta) spoke, she removed a ring from her left hand and displayed it, adding, “It’s the blade of grass. It’s the green ring that I wear.”
The pair’s sweet proposal story became the foundation for the song “Blade of Grass,” which she and Michael cowrote for her new album Mayhem. But that togetherness also permeates the conversations Gaga has had with her fiancé about their nuptials.

“We actually talk about going to the courthouse, just the two of us, and ordering Chinese food,” Gaga said during an October appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!. “Knowing me, also, it could become like a circus with unicorns.”
Regardless of how their wedding day looks, the “Bad Romance” singer knows the rest of their love story will be just like the beginning of their relationship.
“It was really kind of special,” she gushed to Vogue in September. “I met this totally supportive, loving human being who wanted to get to know me—outside of Lady Gaga.”
She continued, “He’s so smart and so kind. He’s a very private guy and he’s not with me for any other reason than that we are right for each other.”

Gaga made her new romance social media official in February 2020, sharing a photo of her sitting on Michael’s lap at the Super Bowl on Instagram with the caption, “We had so much fun in Miami. Love to all my little monsters and fans, you’re the best!”
Despite keeping a low profile since the start of their relationship, Gaga has let her love for Michael, an entrepreneur and former CEO of the San Francisco-based Parker Group, shine through over the years, sharing a photo of the two in March 2020 with the caption, “I’ve got a STUPID love.”
The Oscar winner also called Michael “the love of my life” during an April 2020 interview with MSNBC’s Morning Joe.
And in March 2021, he surprised her with a massive flower arrangement for her 35th birthday, prompting Gaga to share on Instagram, “I love you honey. I can’t wait to be home with you and our dogs, that’s all I need.”

Also in 2021, following the February attack on her French bulldogs and dog walker Ryan Fischer, the “Born This Way” singer made a rare comment about her and Michael’s life together, telling The Hollywood Reporter, “My dogs and the man that I love are my whole life.”

Rumors of an engagement between Lady Gaga and Michael first started swirling in April 2024 when Gaga stepped out wearing a massive diamond ring on that finger. But at the time, the duo were keeping tight-lipped on the rumors.

Days after Gaga kicked off the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, performing Zizi Jeanmaire‘s “Mon Truc En Plumes” at the opening ceremonies, she finally confirmed the engagement, introducing him as her “fiancé” during a conversation with French Prime Minister Gabriel Attal July 28.
