Wesley Fofana returns to the Chelsea starting XI as one of seven changes made by Enzo Maresca for today’s Premier League clash against Leicester City.
Victory this afternoon would be our fourth in succession at Stamford Bridge, and move us back into the Premier League top four with ten matches to play.
Maresca has often rotated his side after a midweek European trip. This afternoon’s clash with the Foxes, who the Italian led to promotion last season, is no exception.
Robert Sanchez remains in goal for the Blues having started our win in Copenhagen on Thursday evening. He will be protected by a back four that consists of Fofana, Tosin Adarabioyo, Levi Colwill, and Marc Cucurella.
It is Fofana’s first appearance since being forced off with a hamstring injury against Aston Villa on December 1.
Moises Caicedo keeps his place in the Chelsea midfield and is set to be partnered by Enzo Fernandez, who returns to the midfield in place of Reece James and captains the side.
Jadon Sancho and Christopher Nkunku return to our attack – Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Tyrique George drop down to the bench – while Cole Palmer keeps his place in what is expected to be a No.10 role.
Pedro Neto starts and is expected to spearhead the Blues frontline, as he did in our previous two Premier League outings against Aston Villa and Southampton.
Notably, there is a place on the substitutes’ bench for Romeo Lavia, who has been sidelined due to injury since January. And 17-year-old Academy defender Genesis Antwi is included in a senior matchday squad for the first time.
