DENVER (KDVR) — It will be a mild start to the day on Monday, with highs staying warm. A winter storm will bring rain, snow and gusty winds by the evening, making for a slippery start to Tuesday morning in the Denver weather forecast.
Tuesday is a Pinpoint Weather Alert Day due to the early morning snow, which is expected to have bigger impacts in communities along the Palmer Divide and foothills.
Denver will enjoy sunshine for the first half of Monday, with mild highs topping out in the lower 60s.
Clouds will increase through the afternoon as snow builds into the high country. The Front Range could see a quick evening rain shower before a switch to snow overnight.
Winds will also pick up this evening.

Denver will see cloudy skies and some light snow showers as temperatures dip into the lower 30s.
Some melting is expected in the city, but higher elevations, like along the Palmer Divide, will see the snow stick. This could lead to issues for the Tuesday morning commute along the divide and into the foothills, so that’s why a Pinpoint Weather Alert Day has been issued.
Also, high winds overnight could create blizzard conditions across the plains. The National Weather Service issued blizzard warnings across several counties in northeast Colorado, impacting towns like Castle Rock, Bennett, Limon, Akron and Julesburg. The warnings go into effect starting late Monday night and overnight Tuesday, and last through the afternoon.
