Anora dominated the 97th Academy Awards on March 2, winning five trophies, including Best Picture. If you haven’t seen the acclaimed film yet, you have several options to watch it at home—and Anora is set to hit Hulu for subscribers later in March.
Directed, written, and produced by Sean Baker, Anora is a romantic comedy-drama following Anora Mikheeva (Mikey Madison), a young stripper who spontaneously marries the son of a Russian oligarch (Mark Eydelshteyn).
“Anora, a young woman from Brooklyn, gets her chance at a Cinderella story when she meets and marries the son of an oligarch. Once the news reaches Russia, her fairytale is threatened as the parents set out for New York to get the marriage annulled,” the official synopsis reads. The movie debuted at the Cannes Film Festival last May and has been an awards frontrunner since then.

Madison also won Best Actress, marking the 25-year-old’s first Oscar for her breakout performance in the indie film.
Anora is one of the lowest-grossing Best Picture winners in recent years, in stark contrast to last year’s Oppenheimer, which became the highest-grossing Best Picture winner in two decades, according to The Wrap. The film earned $15.6 million domestically and just under $41 million worldwide. In his Best Director acceptance speech, Baker called on the film industry to advocate for the support of theatrical moviegoing.

Anora is available to stream on video-on-demand platforms, including Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV+, and Fandango At Home. The movie is currently on sale; you can buy it for $14.99 or rent it for $5.99. Once rented, you have 30 days to start watching and 48 hours to finish after you begin.
The film is also set to arrive on Blu-ray, DVD, and 4K Ultra HD on April 29, 2025.
